STORYLINE

It's May 1945. Following Mexico's sudden entry into World War II, an eccentric group of soldiers, hastily assembled, form the enigmatic "New Unit for Avoidable Violent Events." Or, for short, NINE.

These nine, who are actually ten, are assigned the mission of sabotaging the plans of an elite Nazi group, whose objective is to enter the United States via Mexico, to assassinate President Truman, and with that, definitively tip the balance in favor of the Axis Powers.

The life of the free world hangs by a thread, and the NINE, who have never seen combat, don't know where Italy is, or what Mein Kampf means, must infiltrate the pro-Nazi circles of the Mexican upper bourgeoisie, and neutralize the global threat.

Oh. And they have a couple of months for all of that.

SYNOPSIS

The Mexican oil tanker Potrero del Llano is mistakenly sunk by British submarines. The British blame the Germans... Why do they blame them? Because it's World War II, and everything is the Germans' fault.

A week later, the Americans torpedoed the Mexican oil tanker Faja de Oro, also by mistake, and also blamed the Germans, to follow the example of their English counterparts.

These extraordinary events led to Mexico's abrupt entry into World War II, declaring war on the Axis Powers and any other parties responsible. Consequently, the 201st Air Combat Squadron was commissioned to train in the United States and then deploy to fight on the Philippine front.

Colonel Tavares, by express order of General Gaxiola and President Manuel Ávila Camacho, must select and train in top secret nine soldiers from SQUADRON 201, who are capable of becoming a counter-espionage cell, in record time.

Why nine? Because Gaxiola is superstitious, and that's all the budget allowed. Although, in reality, there are 10. With Colonel Tavares.
